Fish Tourism
Learn the secrets on board of a fishing boat.
Fish Tourism is an activity that allows people to go on board of a fishing boat and to get to grips with the fishing activity. We collaborate with a fisherman from Imperia, called Salvatore, who shares our belief in safeguarding fishing and sustainable fishing. The activity takes place with the accompaniment of a marine biologist or an ecologist, and with qualified on board personnel. The excursion will be completely dedicated to fishing, the analyzation of the catch, a scientific explanation of the species caught and their role in the marine ecosystem. This excursion also plans to follow the species most valid for nutrition and human consumption, and a meal prepared from these species. The reason of this excursion is to ensure a higher consciousness of the importance of choosing the right species and raising our appreciation of both known and lesser known marine species from the point of view of human consumption. It is above all of utmost importance that we share knowledge about endangered species, when and how to fish to maintain an unchanged and natural equilibrium.
